This position is located within the Division of General Services of the Department of Administration. Incumbent will assist in the implementation and completion of preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC and other associated mechanical equipment in Facilities Management owned and contracted buildings. Assists designated mechanic(s) in the handling of materials such as belts, lubricants and air filters for commercial HVAC units. Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe work environment in mechanical and electrical rooms. Completes all daily time sheets and records on all assigned tasks. Offers guidance, promotes teamwork and cooperation, and works to resolve challenges.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:At least a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in HVAC/mechanical maintenance function.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid South Carolina Class "C" or "D" driver's license. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous and noisy locations; and in adverse weather conditions. Position requires work during inclement weather and emergency conditions. Position requires 37.5 hours per week and is subject to 24 hours per day off-duty calls. Position requires participation in the on-call program on a rotating basis.
