Job Description

This is a client facing role responsible for ensuring the security solutions meet the requirements contracted by the client. Review contracted solution and lead security architecture design discussions with cross tower architects including Network, Transition & Transformation (T&T) Integration architects, Midrange, DataCenter (DC) relocation, Storage, etc. to define and document low level security designs that can be implemented by the transition teams. Responsible for a wide range of architectural activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. Selects, tailors and applies formal architectural methods to analyze customer needs and develop requirements for architectural solutions. Utilize a combination of IBM standard and custom solutions and identify vulnerabilities or security exposures that need to be addressed. Anticipate potential problems associated with the solution being developed. Represent the proposed security solutions during client or internal board reviews. Create and track required technical design documentation needed to deploy services.

The Architect understands client needs, works in levels of abstraction, applies industry knowledge, and leverages appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional and non functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. Leads assessment of cost, schedule and dependencies associated with solution development.

Understands future customer, industry and information technology trends. Applies this understanding to develop robust solutions and to identify opportunities for future business.
