This position will lead the Government Business Line for Optiv's Decision Lab Division focused on delivering Big Data security services to the U.S. Government sector by creating and driving unique customer value through improving security controls, business applications, and information systems to effectively reduce risk for new and existing clients.

The Senior Consultant - Government will act as the primary client contact in this sector responsible for business develop, security services delivery teams and will be responsible for translating client needs into project tasks and deliverables. Senior Consultant – Government will manage day-to-day problem-solving and team analytical activities and serve as a key liaison with management and partners. Senior Consultant - Government is also responsible for mentoring, inspiring and developing his/her consulting team. Additionally, the Senior Consultant – Government will support the growth of the business by working alongside managers and teams on new opportunities with potential clients, including preparing for and participating in sales meetings, creating proposals and working on the sale process.

Ultimately, success in this role means developing and maintaining a high-performance team, being a collaborative individual focused on the overall team success, assisting in building solutions based on customer business challenges, driving repeatable and profitable delivering capabilities around them, and generating buzz and adoption in the marketplace and internally within Optiv around these concepts. This requires the willingness to be an entrepreneur playing different roles as needed within Decision Lab to make this business a success.

Key Responsibilities:

* Play a core leadership role in helping grow Decision Lab's Government services business and our overall global services business, overseeing domain competencies such as: cloud security, orchestration & automation, data lake strategy, analytics and security

* Maintaining a lean consulting organization with goals around team utilization and margin

* Drive business development activities

* Manage, develop, and mentor junior team members

* Develop and maintain relationships with clients and quality during engagements

* Lead daily activities of the Decision Lab Government services business

* Be able to work to a number (both revenue and profit) by developing sellable services, finding customers and delivering

* Meet with existing and prospective clients to support sales in evangelizing services

* Identify partners and competitors in this space in order to develop an engagement plan for each

* Communicate with Technical and Non-Technical customers around the intersection of Big Data and security

* Understand security concepts and solutions to a deep enough level to communicate in a practical way with stakeholders and customers of various levels of security experience

Key Activities:

* Providing guidance and knowledge, participating in performing procedures focusing on complex, judgmental, and/or specialized issues

* Working with the team/client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives. Making sure the strategy complies with professional standards and addresses the inherent risks

* Briefing the team on the client's IT environment and industry IT trends

* Maintaining relationships with client management, managing expectations around work products, timing, and deliverables billing

* Demonstrating a thorough understanding of complex information systems and the client's business/industry

* Demonstrating excellent project management skills, inspiring teamwork and responsibility with team members. Using current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services

Required Experience/Skills:

* 10+ years of experience in leading Government projects

* 5+ years of experience working in Big Data with focus on cloud, orchestration and automation and analytics

* Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building

* Knowledge of cloud security, orchestration, data lake development, and analytics

* Experience with building high performance teams

* Collaborative approach to problem solving

* Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement

* Excellent communication and presentation skills

* Experience delivering information security consulting engagements
