Laboratory Technician

At National Spine & Pain Centers (NSPC), our mission is to relieve pain and improve quality of life through personalized, accessible care. We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to support our Columbia, MD Lab team in their pre-analytical specimen processing (to include reception, extraction, storage, and documenting).

Working under the guidance of the Lab Director, you will:

* Maintain records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.

* Adhere to the laboratorys quality control policies and documenting all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance in qualitative specimen analyses.

* Follow the laboratorys policies whenever test systems are not within the laboratorys established acceptable levels of performance

* Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem AND notify the appropriate supervisor.

We require the following:

* Minimum of Associates degree in laboratory science, required - Bachelors' of Science, preferred.

* Minimum of three (3) months of experience each specialty of high complexity testing performed AND knowledge of basic laboratory bench techniques and hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory techniques including automated immunoassay instrument, accurate pippetting skills, solvents/buffers mixtures preparation, required.

* Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbal, required.

* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office), required.

* Must exhibit sufficient manual dexterity and physical mobility; possess visual acuity to complete necessary functions, and be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, required.

* Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.

* Must have satisfactory background check inclusive of driving, criminal, employment reference, education, and social security.
