Job Description:

Join General Dynamic Information Technology's (GDIT's) Defense Division to provide Application Development services for an exciting new contract. As a Senior Application Developer you will be responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining custom applications for a Government customer. Successful candidates must have a strong understanding of DOD cloud governance, including CC-SRG, SCCA, CAP architectures, required to implement IL5/IL6 cloud application services for DOD customers.

Viewed as a technical expert or advisor for one or more applications. Participates on (and may lead) projects where analysis of systems or data requires an in-depth evaluation of complex business process, system process, and industry standards. Regularly mentors and reviews work of less experienced team members. Executes schedules, costs and documentation to ensure assigned projects come to successful conclusion. Initiates corrective action to stay on project schedules. Performs all tasks in the development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing. Supports existing applications including developing fixes as necessary and providing support for complex issues. Gathers, understands, and documents user requirements and technical specifications. Follows all software requirements development standards. Utilizes available programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation. Creates and helps maintain technical and end-user documentation for new and existing applications.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of Application Development experience and at least 2 years of Cloud Native Application Development experience; additional experience / certifications may be considered in place of education.
  • Expertise in developing, maintaining and contributing to technical and process documentation.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Java, JavaScript, Python.
  • Expertise in full stack application development including front and back end services.
  • Expertise in Agile and DevSecOps processes.
  • Expertise in Source Control systems including GIT and TFS.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Azure and AWS services.
  • Expertise with Office 365 management and configuration (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office Suite, AzureAD).
  • Expertise in DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC-SRG) and SCCA Architectures including Cloud Access Point (CAP) architectures.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
  • Industry recognized cloud engineering/architecture or security certification(s).
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and SCI Eligibility.
  • Able to travel 5-10% to the MD/VA/DC area.

Additional Desired Skills or Experience

  • Expertise in cloud service delivery models.
