International Patent Specialist
Cooley LLP is seeking an experienced International Patent Specialist. This position will provide full support to the patent practitioners in filing and maintaining international and foreign national applications and patents. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years international patent filing experience and possess knowledge of rules according to the 37 C.F.R,
Rules and Regulations, Manual of Industrial Property, foreign national patent office literature and a vast array of internet sites detailing various foreign countries patent prosecution rules. A college degree and previous law firm experience is preferred. Successful candidates will have excellent organizational skills and careful attention to detail. Responsibilities include: maintain and monitor foreign patent docket daily; correspond with clients advising of foreign filing due dates; review and analyze related U.S. and PCT prosecution file histories; review and analyze correspondence received from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, World Intellectual Property Organization, foreign national patent offices, and foreign associates; keep abreast with literature describing changes in international and foreign national patent prosecution rules; work with assigned annuity specialist to manage annuities /maintenance fees payments.
