Job Summary

The Sports Information Director (SID) isresponsible for all aspects of media and sports information relating toUniversity of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) intercollegiate athletics. The SID is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by UCCS,the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), and the NCAA. This is a12-month full-time exempt appointment that requires a flexible schedule,including nights and weekends and potential travel with teams.

Duties andResponsibilities

* Primary communications contact for athleticteams as assigned.

* Production of media guides, game programs,press releases and supporting materials

* Perform required game day duties.

* Maintain and update the UCCS athletics website.

* Maintain permanent and complete records forMountain Lion athletic programs.

* Social media manager.

* Workdirectly with the NCAA and RMAC for all sports information related mattersincluding but not limited to statistics, awards, department acknowledgements,legislation, etc.

* Coordinate athletic live-stream programming.

* Assume other job-related responsibilities asassigned.

Knowledge, Skills andAbilities:

* Demonstrated skills in writing event previews,recaps, and feature stories.

* Demonstrated ability to manage large amountsof information with accuracy.

* Demonstrated computer competency andproficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), StatCrew statisticalsoftware, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) and other campusdatabases.

* Ability to take initiative in organizingprograms, planning events, preparing materials, and interacting effectivelywith members of the athletic department and the campus community.

* Demonstrated experience, knowledge and abilityin supervising, advising, training, and evaluating of student employees,volunteers/interns.

* Effective and professional communicationskills, both written and verbal and ability to write and edit, preparing alldocuments efficiently.

* Ability to multi-task, plan, organize andexecute day-to-day operations; work under deadlines and maintain adetail-oriented and highly confidential approach to each task.

* Ability to prioritize and delegate the flow ofwork daily.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently andas part of a team.

For the purposes of FLSAthis position has been determined to be exempt from (not eligible for) overtimeunder FLSA.

Salary Range: $37,250.00

* Bachelors' Degree in Communications, SportManagement, Athletic Administration, Business, Marketing, or related fieldrequired.


* Master's degree

* Previous experience in a similar role withinan Athletic Department or in higher education.
