About the Position: This position is located in the Child and Family Assistance Center and is part of the Department of Behavioral Health at Evans Army Community Hospital. The position is part of a dynamic program that provides mental health services to the children and families of the military community in both clinic and school based settings.

Moving expenses will not be paid.

Responsibilities

* Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis, identified problems and treatment needs for each case.

* Provide individual child and family clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated.

* Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients using interview, case history, and observation techniques, and assessment methods.

* Analyzes information collected to determine psychiatric diagnosis, treatment plan and/or advisability of counseling or referral to other specialists or institutions.

Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical):

Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience screening and interviewing adult and child behavioral health patients, conducting psychosocial evaluations, providing individual and/or family counseling, working with an interdisciplinary team that includes healthcare, academic and social service professionals to formulate treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
