* Establishes, maintains, reviews, determines, processes, and closes payroll accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.

* Monitors local medical Patient Administration Division (PAD) data to track accountability of Wounded Warrior status and its impact on pay.

* Communicates with the Veteran's Administration, Patient Administration Division, other Field Sites, DFAS-IN, and hospitals to maintain awareness and accountability for medical, pay, and personnel status.

* Reviews and maintains pay and travel accounts for Army Wounded Warriors, injured and ill Soldiers, at local installation medical treatment facilities.

* Exercise great precision in entering personnel actions, reviewing pay authorization documents, determining entitlements, and processing pay entitlement actions that serve as a basis for pay and leave computation and affect the disbursement of pay.

* Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the WWPMT and/or DMPO military pay mission.

* Makes required pay input transactions on DMO when necessary based on patient visits, Wounded Warrior Database, personnel data, and/or medical data.

* Communicates both orally and in written format with the Wounded Soldier and/or his/her family, maintaining proper contact information in case further assistance is required.

* Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959)

* Suitable for Federal employment

* Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

* This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

At the GS-6 level specialized experience is defined as: experience reviewing and processing a wide variety of complex military payroll transactions; determining entitlements, examining, verifying all documents for propriety, completeness and accuracy, reviewing and processing final actions to Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing and processing a wide variety of complex, non-recurring payroll transactions, and resolving problems within automated pay accounts. Experience must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of a wide-range of payroll actions, regulations, policies and procedures.reslove various complicated military payroll problems or issues using a variety of techniques.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.


GS-07 (1-grade interval) Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience my be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.
