The Health Unit Coordinator/CNA is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship providing superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service by organizing unit activities, coordinating and relaying information to health care team members, patients and families in an accurate and timely manner; and by assisting licensed personnel in providing direct nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provides care to patients in a clean and safe environment.
- Demonstrates accurate order transcription and communicates vital information to the appropriate staff.
- Orders received are initiated in a timely manner.
- Utilizes Health First computer systems with regards to order entry and order inquiry.
- Maintains census board on the nursing unit with appropriate accurate information. Maintains Patient chart order.
- Monitors for History and Physical compliance.
- Facilitates response to call lights within a timely manner.
- Demonstrates Super User ability with computer software applications.
- Admits, discharges and transfers patients in a timely manner.
- Collects, records, and reports accurate patient information.
- Coordinates appointments and transportation as needed for patients.
- Responds to call light in a timely manner.
- Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
- Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Must be able to speak/understand the written and verbal instructions of the English language.
- Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
- Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Must be able to lift, turn, pull, or push equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift
- Potential for exposure to biohazardous waste, and known or unknown diseases.
