SUMMARY

Greet and seat guests in Restaurant providing efficient and courteous service to patrons by performing the following duties.

DUTIES

Greets arriving guests with a genuine hospitable welcome.

Escorts guest to tables and provide menus per department procedures.

Direct the timing and flow of business into the restaurant by assignment of guest tables in a rotating method. Skip rotation upon guests special request and server availability.

Maintain/inspect all menus to ensure quality standard presentation.

Balancing of daily receipts, including but not limited to: cash, vouchers, credit cards and In-house charges.

Assist guest with special needs/requests (including children highchairs) within department guidelines.

Takes guest orders via telephone or in person following department guidelines.

Selects requested food items from serving/kitchen or storage areas and assembles items for guest pickup following department guidelines.

Records information pertaining to services rendered.

Compliance to department standard operating procedural manual to include: service standards, cash/check handling procedures, menu interpretation, safety and security, stocking and requisitioning.

Conformance to Government and Company Safety, Security and Sanitation requirements.

Participate in company monthly Goals & Measurements Program.

Responsible for providing Excellent Service to owners and guests alike.

Maintain clean and organized work area.

Respond to guest inquiries, complaints in a professional and urgent manner.

Maintain required department records with accuracy.

Compliance to buffet/special event food and beverage check/cash procedures.

Ability to comprehend daily features/specials and memorization of regular food menus and beverage lists.

Apply menu knowledge to successful suggestion selling techniques. Salesmanship.

Complete opening/running/closing duties as assigned.

Conform to department training standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years guest relations experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divided in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITIES

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety if instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must successfully attend Company Mandatory Training programs. Alcohol awareness training. Must successfully complete the Host/ Hostess training program.
