Job Title: Administration and External Affairs Paraprofessional Intern

Department: Administration and External Affairs

Anticipated Length of Assignment: 12 Months

Job Description: The intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment, including, but not limited to:

Project Title: Community Benefits Programs and Initiatives
-Assist with US Water Alliance implementation of Water Champions Program
-Assist with the promotion and launch of the Green Infrastructure Maintenance Training Program
-Support the Art Installation Leave-Behind Projects
-Work with the Good Neighbor Ambassador Program team
-Work with the team to increase affordability program participation
-Assist in the development and implementation of the DrainKeepers Program
-Attend meetings and community events representing the District

Project Title: Public Outreach and Education
-Assist with the coordination of various outreach activities and events
-Schedule and support Sewer University and other educational presentations to customers and elected officials
-Participate in student programs sponsored by the District
-Provide day of the event support for Community Relations projects

Project Title: Research and Administrative Support
-Research and report on programs related to key projects
-Assist with the scheduling of key partner meetings
-Take minutes and ensure communications are distributed

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements

-Candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday-Friday during normal business hours but will require some weeknight and weekend hours. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.
-Candidate must be able to commit to up to a 12 month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD's discretion. This internship program provides for a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices and procedures related to temporary employees
-Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record in accordance with the District's acceptable guidelines

Education Requirements
-Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor degree program or better with a declared major of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, Business, Education or a related field of study. This position may include those that have graduated from a related program within 24 months of the date of application
