Credit Manager

Responsible for the management of the overall credit and collection functions, as well as the credit personnel in the assigned location. Work in conjunction with Management, Company Credit Manager, and Legal Council to authorize settlements, run aging and prepare the budget for location.

Essential Job Duties:

* Oversee development and performance of Credit personnel and direct reports.

* Authorized settlement authority with Area managers & Legal Counsel.

* Knowledge of all legal aspects of the collection process.

* Attend meetings with customers.

* Responsible for DSO reduction, collections in relation to sales, reserves and any other function that directly affects the department goals and objectives.

* Grant credit within the Area according to established company policy.

* Schedule and run aging reviews for the Area.

* Work with Area Manager to increase and secure all sales.

* Prepare the budget for area of responsibility.

* Perform personnel management duties including training, hiring, terminating, initiating disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews and making wage recommendations as appropriate.

* Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures.

* Oversee hiring process of key positions in Area credit office.

* Responsible for alternate security options & procedures.

* Responsible for structuring the credit department within the Area. C

* Complete special projects as needed.

* Support and propagate the safety and health requirements of the company.

* Complies with Companys attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.

* Other duties as assigned by company management.


* Minimum education required Bachelors degree in business or equivalent experience.

* Minimum experience required5 years experience in credit and collection process. 3 years supervisory experience. 3+ years experience in building materials and construction industry.

* Must have great communication and management skills, must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects, work well under extreme pressure & stress, must have employee developmental skills and the ability to work with many different levels of management.

* Special knowledge requiredLegal compliance and lien laws relating to collection of debts.

* Extensive travel within the Division will be required in order to insure goals and objectives are met and locations are serviced.

* Other Proficient computer skills such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. is necessary.

* Physical demands include standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, bending or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
