What You Will Do

The DevOps Engineer will help drive automation efforts across the organization utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration Management, and Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) tools. This role is also responsible for successfully packaging and delivering products through the software development life cycle and have good experience in automating build/deploy/release activities. The DevOps Engineer should possess excellent troubleshooting skills. Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery experience is required for this position. This position will work closely with DEV, QA and Product Management teams during the agile release process. The DevOps Engineer will develop high-quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions in the fast-paced industry. Must be highly motivated and a self-starter who enjoys innovating and constantly improving the products and processes.

Your Day to Day Essential Duties

  • Works closely with DEV, QA and Product Management teams during the agile release process
  • Responsible for successfully packaging and delivering products through the software development life cycle and have good experience in automating build/deploy/release activities
  • Recent experience in software development, system administration and test engineering.
  • Helps maintain environments for CI/CD tools and guides other team members on best practices and process.
  • Ability to look at all environments whether Cloud, Virtual, or hybrid and design appropriate automation frameworks
  • Consistently ensures team is using a “best in class“ tool set following industry “best practices“ to help define “how we work“ everyday.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, systems administration and test engineering / strong preference for experience in all 3 domain areas
  • 3+ years of scripting PowerShell: administration, automation, ability to maintain extensive PowerShell scripts.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps
  • Microsoft SQL
  • Automation Experience with Build/deployment, Software Configuration/Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery/Release Engineering.
  • Skilled in deploying and configuring Java and .NET applications.
  • Installing, Configuring, Administering, and Tuning of Application Servers, and WebServers.
  • Recent experience in software development, system administration and test engineering.
  • Proficient in a modern scripting language, such as Python
  • 2+ years using modern infrastructure automation toolkits such as Ansible. Ansible Tower experience a plus. Must know Ansible-Vault and Ansible-Galaxy
  • 2+ years of Docker, Kubernetes experience
  • 2+ years with Jenkins Pipelines
  • 3+ years Linux and Windows system automation
  • Deep understanding of modern microservice based architectures and operations
  • Experience in continuous integration tools and CD/CD best practices (Chef, Ansible)
  • Experience in version control systems such as Git or SVN
  • Experience in cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Configuring and maintaining SDLC Environments.
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies and processes.
  • Strong Automation, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow through to completion.
  • Understand the benefits of BOT technology and ability to introduce into environments
  • Understanding of concepts of Infrastructure as Code and “kill and rebuild“ vs. troubleshoot
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience in providing leadership, best practices, research and innovation within the DevOps/Release Engineering domain, to drive optimal results in delivering software.
  • Experience in performance engineering, automating Performance and Load Test of complex software.
  • Integration/Continuous Delivery/Release Engineering related tasks in Java, NodeJS and .NET Environments.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the working day
  • Needs to occasionally move about the office to communicate with staff and attend meetings
  • Constantly operates a computer
  • Frequently communicates verbally with peers and management
  • Must be able to analyze detail close-up
