Title: Employment Specialist

Position Type: CAAS - Specialist

Summary:

Applicant expected to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks including planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carrying out important operational duties.

An ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams including internal and external stakeholders, students, and staff. Experience in program development and relationship management is preferred.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategies to acquire work-based learning and employment partners for student placements

* Maintain and build positive relationships within Greater Cincinnati business community

* Coordinate business partners for the purpose of meeting education objectives and student needs

* Recruit new partners to provide quality workforce readiness learning opportunities for students

* Coordinate employment pipeline programs across the district

* Coordinate internships, job shadowing, service learning, mock interviews, and other career-based learning programs that relate to worksite learning

* Provide career development, occupational, labor market, nontraditional career and postsecondary information

* Facilitate linkages with parents, business/ industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to support students' transition to postsecondary education and employment

* Provide and coordinate activities for students to develop employability skills

* Develop and implement strategies to acquire business sites for student placements and maintain positive relationships with businesses in the community

* Monitor and implement established programming in buildings across district

* Serve as a liaison between the district staff and school staff for 10 or more schools

* Provide information and direction to schools as it relates to career or career readiness

* Train school staff and business professionals on programs and expectations

* Create and disseminate timely internal and external communications for programming and events

* Manage program budgets and secure necessary program resources

* Research and explore emerging careers

Qualifications-

* Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability and personality to work collaboratively, accept responsibility, and motivate school employees to engage in program initiatives

* Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and ability to effectively balance and integrate task-oriented and process-oriented responsibilities

* Proven success working with students, parents, volunteers, school staff, and business professionals in a variety of settings

Professional Skills:

* Relationship management

* Volunteer and student recruitment

* Strong organizational skills

* Data collection skills and Excel knowledge

* Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

* Analytical skills to interpret student assessment results, behavior, and work capabilities

* Communication skills needed to effectively relate to all stakeholders

* Knowledge of work demands and work ethics across a variety of business settings

* Collaboration skills to work

Education:

Bachelor's in Education or Business, Master's Preferred; Or Related Degree

Experience Required: Minimum two years in relevant role (resource coordination, urban education, program management, or workforce development).

Employment Provisions

Type of Contract: 261 day limited

Salary: Specialist per CAAS agreement
