The primary function of the position is to provide ongoing support our Reinsurance division and P&C Group Executive team regarding reinsurance contracts. This position will be located in Cincinnati, OH.

Responsibilities

* Review contract wording for all renewal reinsurance programs to ensure compliance with Great American's Reinsurance Treaty Clause Manual.• Draft and/or review contract wording for all new reinsurance programs.• Draft and/or review wording for all reinsurance contract amendments.• Prepare final contracts for signature by reviewing any changes made since the last draft reviewed.• Review and approve any nonconcurrent contract wording appearing in individual reinsurer participation pages.• Maintain Great American's Reinsurance Treaty Clause Manual; update as needed to keep current with market-accepted wording.• In instances where Great American has negotiated alternative contract wording with certain reinsurers (Global Trade Agreements), maintain a record of the accepted alternative wording and ensure that it is used consistently across all contracts with that reinsurer.• Maintain a log of all reinsurance contracts and collaborate with intermediaries and reinsurers to ensure final contract documentation is executed with 2-3 months of the contract effective date.• Scan and file all final reinsurance contract documentation into myFile.• Collaborate with GAIC P&C Legal as needed.

Qualifications

* 3-5 years of experience working in the insurance / reinsurance business. Including familiarity in contract review and drafting.• Paralegal Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, and/or Post-Bachelor's certificate preferred. Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school or equivalent a plus.• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
