We have a full time opening for a motivated and skilled mid-level software engineer with a passion for exploring new cutting edge hardware. As part of the hardware specific operating system team, you will develop and support software features for high performance hardware management services including infrastructure covering boot, dump, halt, monitoring, diagnostics, resiliency, high-availability, cooling, and power management. New hardware bring-up and technical leadership is also a major responsibility in this job. In this role, you will demonstrate and develop strong technical skills as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.RequirementsKey Qualifications include:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and/or equivalent experience

* 5+ years' experience developing operating system and/or hardware management software

* Ability to prototype different design approaches and explain advantages and disadvantages

* Write appropriate project and design documentation and give technical presentations

* Design, plan, and implement innovative software solutions

* Assist in system level integration and debugging of the hardware and software issues

* Experience maintaining and fixing issues in complex software

* Deep knowledge of Linux (or Unix) operating system internals

* Familiar with Linux distribution components (init scripts, initrd creation, packages, what needs to be in /etc and a skeleton root) strongly preferred

* Basic Linux networking (ifconfig, dhcp, tftp)

* Experience with Redfish is strongly preferred

* Experience with HTTP ReST interfaces

* Strong C, Python, and BASH scripting skills

* Strong unit and feature test methodology

* Experience using git

* Experience using Atlassian tools (confluence, JIRA, Stash) is strongly preferred
