VP, IT Program Manager - Legal, Internal Audit and Supplier Management (L12)

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Information Technology Program Manager will provide leadership and oversight spanning across the Legal, Internal Audit & Supplier Management organizations. This role will be responsible for managing IT projects and providing production support for the applicable systems. This resource will also provide strategic oversight and partnership with the functional partners as they evaluate new systems and technology.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Lead, manage and execute projects that align to the Legal, Internal Audit & Supplier Management organization.

* Partner with software vendors (i.e. Tymetrix, ACL, Metricstream) and internal Synchrony Financial application teams on project enhancements and production issues.

* Manage projects and IT resources throughout the System Development Life Cycle: Estimation, Funding, Scheduling, Requirements, Design, Construction, Testing and Release.

* Identify opportunities and the execution of migrating project management in these areas from Waterfall to Agile.

* Interact with business users to gather/validate requirements and develop detailed specifications and design solutions that meet business objectives.

* Responsible for tracking budget and issues/risks for assigned projects. Lead annual budget planning with functional partners.

* Create overall project plan that tracks critical project milestones/tasks.

* Plan and communicate project status on a regular basis with business, IT leadership, and other key stakeholders.

* Oversee new change controls that are introduced to the project.

* Work with Third Party application providers to ensure project tasks align with delivery dates.

* Manage overall test plan and approach on projects. Engage business and customer stakeholders for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

* Execute on production deployment deliverables and provide post implementation support.

* Coordinate quarterly/annual system access certification process for respective applications.

* Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of IT experience or in lieu of degree High School diploma/GED and 9 years IT experience

* Minimum of 5 years of IT project management experience in financial services or banking industry.

Desired Characteristics:

* PMP or PMI ACP certification or demonstrated experience with project management

* Prior experience with Legal, Internal Audit and Supplier Management systems

* Process re-engineering/improvement skills

* Superior analytical, decision-making, oral and written communication skills

* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

* Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization.

* Able to understand business requirements and translate into technical requirements for projects.

* Proven track record of leading and executing on critical business initiatives on-time and within budget

* Strong business acumen in financial services and HR

* Demonstrated ability to drive change, influence and motivate teams

* Vendor management experience

Eligibility Requirements:

* You must be 18 years or older

* You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

* You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process

* You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

* Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
