Strategic Engagement Leader

The Strategic Engagement Leader is an Officer position that serves as an IT and Operations strategy leader that partners with senior leadership of assigned business areas for strategy development, innovation, service management, risk management and relationship management. This individual will serve as a trusted senior advisor that provides highly-valued strategic consulting support and guidance, and will be responsible for leading the key IT and Operations initiatives for assigned business area. They will deliver on solutions for assigned business areas by leading teams of subject matter experts within the IT and Operations organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Serves as a thought leader and positive change agent while bringing innovative solutions to business areas to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge and drive their innovation agenda.

* Responsible for owning the relationship with senior leadership to drive the business strategy through technology and operations solutions.

* Responsible for the development and implementation of the IT and Operations master plan for the supported business area or function including priority confirmation, support in the governance process and funding approval.

* Ensures IT and Operations are delivering the optimum service levels to business areas that improve business success, innovation, and investment returns, and helps facilitate a solution to challenges in the current environment. Will be required to lead teams of individuals within IT and Operations to facilitate a solution.

* Links IT and Operations expenditures to established strategic business priorities and delivered business value.

* Defines and drives the information technology and operations strategy and capabilities needed for that business area's growth, profitability, and success.

* Responsible for the coordination and development of integrated top-to-bottom annual and multi-year IT and Operations business plans with business area.

* Consistently looks for ways to improve internal processes to gain efficiencies to achieve higher levels of performance, and be able to share perspectives on progressive business ideas and emerging technologies to drive and deliver transformational change.

* Leads, coaches, and develops cross functional teams within the IT and Operations Strategy group when solutioning for a business need or demand.

* Retools and continually upgrades personal skills and knowledge about supported business areas, information technology and operations capabilities and innovative business solutions.

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

* Preferred experience with the insurance industry, its products and services.

* A keen understanding of the assigned business area, its operations, and strategic direction.

* Drives innovation to generate new or unique solutions that challenge the status quo.

* A strong ability to actively scout and recommend potential high impact projects with information technology components within the assigned business area.

* Strong ability to serve as a change agent and provide leadership and vision for the IT and Operations organizations and business area(s) as needed.

* Expert ability to influence senior and executive leadership (IT and business area) and a strong ability to lead teams through change.

* Ability to drive solutions and deliverables through others.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills), along with excellent problem solving skills, leadership, and a willingness to collaborate.

* Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners within scope of responsibility, team and/or matrix environment.

* Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism with excellent attention to detail.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree required in related field, MBA preferred.

* Typically a minimum of twelve years of consulting experience, with a focus on strategy, operations, or equivalent.

* Seven years of people or project management experience.

* Deep insurance industry experience preferred.
