Job Description

This role primarily provides finance analysis for the Americas (North America and Latin America), and the broader GeoMarket business. The role reports to the Senior Director Finance, Sales & Aftermarket, but has a dotted line to the regional Business Partner for the Americas.

The individual will support the management reporting, investment decision support, budget/forecasting process, strategic planning support and general financial market intelligence for the Americas regions. They will also act as a central contact point for the GeoMarkets function, preparing and coordinating both recurring and ad-hoc analysis and business insight.

* Acts as a regional expert understanding the key drivers of the local business, providing timely insight and updates to the Business Partner for the Americas.

* Supports regional decision making to maximize revenue growth, working capital usage and service center excellence and profitability.

* Collaborates closely with the regional financial controller and individual country controllers to ensure a united yet efficient finance function is maintained.

* Assists with the monthly management reporting cycle and close process, specifically covering analysis and review of regional performance and consolidating global GeoMarket reporting.

* Assists with the budget and forecasting process including consolidation, review and analysis of global and regional numbers, and the preparation of detailed reports and bridges.

* Provides recommendations for reporting improvements and implements those enhancements where appropriate.

* Assists with the initial financial assessment, post implementation reviews and regular reporting of the portfolio of Strategic Investments across the John Crane business.

* Supports ad-hoc John Crane initiatives, projects or M&A activities including integration and information requests as directed by the Senior Director Finance, Sales & Aftermarket.

* Must be willing to travel 25% of the time.

Position Requirements

Must have a proven track record of success in progressively more senior commercial analysis roles preferably in an English and Spanish speaking environment. Previous experience of working with a high-performing team in a multi-site, multi-cultural business is preferred. The following experience, skills and personal attributes are key:

* A minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience with a strong focus on commercial and or Strategic Business Analysis preferably in a large multi-location business.

* Demonstrated ability to build solid working relationships.

* Demonstrated ability to achieve results. Uses data / analytics to make insightful observations and recommendations.

* Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple, changing priorities and work independently under tight deadlines.

* Strong excel skills essential.

* Excellent organizational skills including time and task management.

* Effective written, verbal and presentation skills in both English and Spanish.

Physical/Mental Requirements

* Must be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.

* Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant.

* Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 20 pounds.

* Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.

* Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.

* Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.

* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand both English & Spanish.

* Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

Work Environment

Work environment is typically considered within a Smiths location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities. Work environment may also include customer sites including oil well sites, and meeting venues. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and approved PPE is required when on the factory floor.
