The new Global Procurement Organization is driving a transformation agenda, moving toward a more strategic and Global approach, enabling simplification and standardization of procurement category processes, while demonstrating a collaborative mindset.

This role has category management responsibilities for Kimberly-Clark's purchases in Media and related subcategories, in which global spend is approx. $400-500MM. The position will report directly to the Global Director, Marketing Procurement.

The Global Procurement Manager, Marketing Media will:

* Develop and oversee the global category strategy for Media.

* Provide guidance to regional teams in the context of regional stakeholder needs, certifying deployment of the global category strategy.

* Ensure that K-C is leveraging its global volumes.

* Lead Supplier relationship management, building partnerships with strategic suppliers in the category.

* Establish strong connections with stakeholders, engaging them in procurement processes and decisions.

This Global Procurement role is responsible for the category management of the most complex areas of Marketing spend within the overall category. The individual in this role partners with internal stakeholders to develop and implement business and category strategies and proactively manages supplier relationships. This position works closely with the Marketing Global Category Director and business units regarding the application and integration of procurement philosophies and techniques to meet the needs of internal customer requirements from a category sourcing perspective.

Scope/Categories

Lead the strategic sourcing and category management of Marketing Categories including media, sponsorship and licensing. Value of purchases are typically in the $400-$500MM range and support both regional and global purchases across multiple business units.

Responsibilities:

* Develops a thorough strategic plan to drive value for the category based on an understanding of business unit needs, the supply market, spend baseline, benchmarking and changing market dynamics.

* Balances strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects.

* Provides innovative sourcing solutions to the customer by bringing continuous improvement and market driven innovation to their attention, offering credible alternatives where applicable.

* Partners with internal stakeholders to develop robust category sourcing and supplier relationship management strategies.

* Leads bidding process, negotiating pricing/terms and conditions, and final contract award and implementation.

* Analyzes market and supply dynamics related to supplier proposals to develop a matrix of negotiation scenarios.

* Leads the development of risk analyses, assessments and mitigation plans for their category.

* Proactively interacts with business units to develop, engage and lead supplier relationships for extracting the greatest value in cost, security of supply, risk management, sustainability and innovation.

* Uses specific market analysis to predict behavior and supply risks to the organization. May provide market analysis to customers and advice to others within procurement.

* Develops and maintains knowledge-base of the category

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline.

* 7-10 years of business experience including experience in Procurement of Marketing and/or Media spend categories.

* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the strategic management of a category(s) including the six step sourcing process.

* Led and delivered on a multi-disciplined, multi-site, multi-region project.

* Experience in a cross-functional and/or business unit role in which category knowledge was gained and applied.

* Project management/continuous improvement experience.

* Experience as a thought leader demonstrating ability to influence others.

* Category knowledge gained through experience in cross functional roles.

* Experience establishing resource networks and building relationships.
