Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the developmentof new business areas which complements existing offerings.

Primary duties toinclude, but are not limited to:

* Analyzes market trends, proposes newproduct/service initiatives, and coordinates with the Marketing/ProductInnovation area to implement products.

* Provides oversight and resources to keyprojects.

* Develops business plans and formulates strategies for both new andexisting businesses.

* Monitors financials associated with new solutions andclients.

* Prepares reporting and presents findings related to financialperformance of new solutions.

* Supports the operations of payer solutionbusinesses.

* Provides research, analysis and recommendations on theexternal environment as part of the development of strategic plans for thebusiness unit.

* Analyzes major competitor strategies.

* Identifies and monitorschanging patterns of competition and recommends responses.

* Plans, directs, andcontrols the resources and efforts of the reporting and data analysis team toaccomplish the business objectives through information management.

* Obtainsresources (people, funding, material, support) to support the business unitinformation needs and strategic initiatives.

* Provides leadership in motivatingindirect subordinates to accomplish reporting and data analysis goals andobjectives.

* Reports project status and progress to VP segment business andother management.

* Acts as a liaison to other BUs/companies. Implementsproduct/operational changes resulting from changing legislation/regulations.

The qualified candidate will have:

* Requires a BA/BS degree;

* 8 - 10 years of business development experience in the healthcare and/or insurance industry including 5 years of progressive direct/indirect leadership responsibilities; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

* Masters degree preferred.

* Experience in business/product development and/or marketing preferred.

* Organizational, analytical, facilitation, consultation, negotiation, persuasion and project management skills required.
