Chester is located in Chesterfield County and is bounded by the cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell and Colonial Heights. Situated between the James and Appomattox Rivers, Chester is rich in history and outdoor experiences.

The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14/15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

Responsibilities

* Serves as the principle Defense Contract Management Agency liaison, planner, advisor and consultant to the Director, Combat Support Center and Combatant Commands J4.

* Evaluates theater operation plans and assesses DCMA's supporting tasks and missions.

* Reviews and updates Agency Mission Essential Tasks (METs) in support of COCOM Plans and reports readiness in the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS).

* Resolves operational plan shortfalls, limitations and other conditions that impact DCMA's ability to perform its combat support mission.

* Determines the need for special reports to keep superiors current on all major doctrinal developments within the Combatant Commander's theater of operations and advises senior DCMA officials of support issues that impact the Agency.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (SCI) security clearance.

* Must comply with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

* Must file an annual financial statement.

* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

* This position is designated "key" which requires the incumbent, or designated alternate, to be screened from military recall status per DoD Directive 1404.10.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03). Specialized experience is defined as: experience reviewing and developing operational plans, utilizing a readiness reporting system; and experience with coordinating participation with Senior Military Command Groups and Federal Agency's operation exercises.

Education can not be substituted for experience.
