Food Services Director

Sentara Life Care is seeking an experienced Food Services Director for our Windemere - Rehabilitation and Nursing Center located in Chesapeake, Virginia.

This is a full-time, day shift position.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Certified Professional Food Manager/ ServSafe Food Handler required.
Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Manager preferred.

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent or Trade School Graduate.

5 years experience Commercial Food Preparation required.
1 year experience working with Frail and Elderly population required.
2 years supervisory experience required.

Required Education

High School Grad or Equivalent OR
Trade School Graduate - OTHE

Experience

Required: Commercial Food Preparation - 5 years, Frail and Elderly Population - 1 year, Supervisory - 2 years

Preferred: None, unless noted in the “Other“ section below

Licenses and Certifications

Required: Cert Professional Food Mgr, ServSafe Food Handler

Must be at least 18 years of Age. Must be able to perform in a sometime stressful environment and display a positive attitude and professional conduct when dealing with others. Must be able to maintain confidential information and have the ability to distinguish what should be shared with others. Must be able to delegate and manage multiple priorities. Must have working knowledge of food service equipment. Must know how to safely operate. Certified Food Manager Certification, ServSafe Certification or equivalent national registry standard certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire. Current Food Handler's Workers Permit required upon hire if employee does not possess active certified Food Manager Certification or equivalent.
