Automotive Assistant Controller/Office Manager

The Assistant Controller is responsible to support the Controller in carrying out his/her accounting operations duties to include the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, and the production of periodic financial reports. The Assistant Controller will help enhance the accuracy of reported financial results and will also help ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The ideal Assistant Controller candidate will have at least two years experience in a position of similar responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Helps maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

* Assists in vendor management and outsourcing oversight

* Helps manage accounting department operations, maintain an orderly accounting system, and maintain control over accounting systems and chart of accounts

* Helps maintain accounts payable and ensures all available discounts are taken on accounts payable

* Helps maintain accounts receivable

* Participates in payroll processing in a timely and accurate fashion

* Completes periodic bank reconciliations on a regular basis

* Makes debt payments on a timely basis

* Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience

* Two years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation

* Certified Public Accountants or Certified Management Accountants preferred

* Strong computer and internet skills

* An impressive work-ethic

* Neat, clean, and professional appearance

* Strong communication, presentation and writing skills

* Willing to work periodic evening shift on a continuous basis
