Provider Support Specialist - Technology Management EMR Team - Full-time

Job Summary:

The Provider Support Specialist position is essential to the successful creation and execution of Provider training program and will translate into meaningful day to day activities for all Providers. He/She will provide knowledge and skill to Providers for Echart functionality. The Provider Support Specialist will report to the eChart IT Application Training Manager. The Provider Support Specialist is responsible for mastering both an eChart application and Erlanger specific workflows. Person in this position will assist and lead Providers of all services thru eChart program and their respective application(s). This position is responsible for assisting with the development and/or coordination of training curriculum and course education. Provider Support Specialist is a integral members of the Training Team and is responsible for participating in workflow design and system build in order to gain in-depth knowledge of the system functionality and rationale for the workflow design for Providers. The Provider Support Specialist will also be responsible for 'Side by Side' and Go-live support at Provider's location.

Key Responsibilities:

Excellent leadership, listening, written and oral communication skills with ability to build relationships with staff, providers, co-workers and management who utilize EMR applications.

Works with Department / Office Manager(s) to understand critical compliant issues associated with the eChart specialty that Provider will use.

Competency in all Epic modules for both Inpatient and Outpatient Providers and Specialties

Vast knowledge of Providers Tools / Workflows and able to accommodate specialty processes.

Assist Provider(s) with personalization and Smart Text creation

Assist Providers with knowledge on how to assess their personal compliance with mandatory reporting metrics

Work with Principal Trainer of the Application in the development of Provider training.

Monitors and reviews Provider progress. Re-assess for success or need for follow up.

Discuss Provider (s) success or issues with PT (s), Direct Manager and Senior Leadership.

Develop Policy and Procedures regarding Provider function in eChart and discuss process changes with Manager.

Assist with identification and resolution of specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.

Appropriately escalate issues to Manager, Director/Senior Leadership as required.

Develop, implement and communicate training materials.

Develops and coordinates workflow and application needs with Application Analysts, Principal Trainers that effect build or curriculum.

Education:

Required: Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Education, or related field

OR

Equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

Required:

Five or more years experience in Training, education and/or healthcare fields

EPIC Training experience

Strong presentation experience

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:

Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education

Experience in EMR installations

Preferred:

EPIC certification in the module(s) being represented
