About the Position: The incumbent will serve as Maintenance Control Technician at a major multipurpose water resource project with the primary responsibility for the ongoing maintenance, control and administration of a comprehensive computerized maintenance management system, such as Facilities Equipment Maintenance System (FEM), Dyna Star or other computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This position is located in Chatsworth, Georgia.

Responsibilities

* Organize and complies all information and ensures accuracy

* Exercise own initiative in developing or updating equipment profiles, history, or maintenance schedule

* Answer inquires about work status orders, equipment maintenance history, and trouble reports

* Coordinate with either transferring or receiving project to ensure equipment record is visible

* Work with supervisor and maintenance members to enter detailed data for job plan

* Review feedback to verify work is accomplished

* Serve as the technical advisor to supervisor on functions and data contained in a computerized maintenance management system

* Prepare and assist the supervisor in preparing annual and periodic program reports

* Review data to compile statistics that might indicate needed maintenance

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Inputting maintenance records and reviewing/identifying/resolving discrepancies; independently updating ongoing maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), maintaining normal cycles and repetitions as well as accommodating emergencies, reprioritizations, and beneficial successive tasking, and providing data to management/team leaders indicating available resources to accomplish work effectively and efficiently.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
