The Business Analyst role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to perform data analysis, build product requirements documents with detailed functional requirements, and become a subject matter expert for the products, all from within the Web Development department.

The ideal candidate is someone who has worked in ecommerce or other consumer facing websites, as a business analyst or other technical or digital marketing role. The candidate should have an aptitude and interest for conducting research, defining product requirements and communicating with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis on technology projects of various complexities
  • Write product requirement documents with detailed functional requirements for multiple technology projects
  • Clarify requirements, answer questions, and conduct additional research related to product requirement documentation
  • Analyze business value of technology projects and present findings to stakeholders
  • Assist the Product Management team with product requirement definition and documentation
  • Develop requirements documents that define product enhancements and development initiatives
  • Participate in product design activities, wireframes, flow charting, and mockups that generate user friendly solutions that provide clear end-user benefits and differentiation from competitor products
  • Work in conjunction with a team of Product Managers, Web Developers, Test Case Writers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Project Managers, Copywriters, UX Designers, and Business Units to develop new products and to provide ongoing management for existing products
  • Assess stakeholder needs, technology trends, and major competitors in order to synthesize product and technical requirements

Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a Business Analysis or related role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Strong analytical skill set to decipher business needs and recommend solutions
  • Ability to become a Subject Matter Expert for all ecommerce products
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and develop various products at different stages
  • Excellent communication skills, to both internal and external stakeholders, both oral and written, including authorship of product-related documentation
  • Ability to develop functional product specifications
  • Ability to think creatively and excellent problem solving skills
  • Can take charge and thrive in uncharted territory
  • Able to communicate with technical and non-technical people
  • Highly responsible, self-disciplined, creative, and confident
  • Ability to juggle priorities, pace, and multiple deliverables
  • Understanding of how the web works, HTML
  • Solid understanding of application architectures, databases, APIs, etc. 1 – 2 years of software development experience a plus
  • Ability to write basic ad-hoc SQL queries for requirements gathering a plus
