Responsibilities:

  • Technical Tax:
  • Perform technical review or cold check of assigned corporate tax returns, many of which may be multistate or multinational enterprises
  • Work with commercial clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, software/tech, and service based industries
  • Identify complex tax issues, research those issues, and recommend creative solutions
  • Delegate and manage tax compliance and advisory assignments to achieve accurate and efficient product
  • Schedule workflow to achieve client deadlines

  • Administrative:
  • Perform administrative duties relative to position, including overseeing billing

  • Staff Development:
  • Direct staff
  • Maintain familiarity with staff’s qualifications, reviewing assignments for appropriateness
  • Provide effective performance feedback and on-the-job training
  • Instruct and facilitate both internal and external training

  • Business Development:
  • Pursue opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Collaborate with team members in other functional groups like audit and consulting
  • Develop a network of referral sources within the community
  • Pursue leads and be a part of a proposal team

  • Client Management:
  • Develop and sustain excellent client relationships
  • Regularly engage with clients for regular tax planning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s degree in Tax preferred
  • 7+ years’ recent accounting firm experience including managing multiple tax accounting projects and client engagements, directing and scheduling staff and managing work flow. Additional industry experience a plus
  • Significant experience working with corporate entities
  • CPA certification
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
