Quality Assurance Analyst

General Summary:

The QA will work with the project team to understand the issue the software enhancements will solve and have a thorough understanding of manual and automated testing. The QA is responsible for developing test plans, execution of test cases, finding and reporting bugs and issues. The QA will clearly document all defects or issues and work with the project team to resolve. The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. Ultimately, the candidate is responsible for ensuring the software/application works according to requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze system specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst to develop effective strategies and test plans.
  • Create and execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
  • Clearly document and report bugs and errors to development team.
  • Help troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in software development lifecycle.
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance.
  • strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Experience documenting defects, issues and tracking through resolution.
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
  • Experience with TFS is a plus.
