Instructional Designer

Job Responsibilities:

* Manage training projects to completedeliverables within the targeted timeframes required by the business needs;maintain ongoing communications throughout the project with business owners,subject matter experts, project managers and the training team.

* Facilitate training project meetings and focusgroups to assess needs and gather information for training content; conducttrain-the-trainers sessions to prepare trainers to facilitate training sessionsusing the materials developed.

* Evaluate training solutions to measure theireffectiveness in meeting the business needs (performance objectives).Providecoaching and mentoring for instructional designers and other trainingdepartment members.

* Contribute to the training department'scollective knowledge and skills in performance development and instructionaldesign through professional memberships, seminars, independent research, andother self-development activities.


* Highly motivated, energetic and engaging

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to rapidlyadjust to project changes

* Willingness to accept and provide constructive feedback

* Instructional design skills applied to training materials, facilitated coursesand online learning

* Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles applied to training materials,classroom activities and online learning

* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

* Willingness to take ownership for assigned tasks with attention to detail

* Project management skills and experience

* Training needs assessment and training evaluation skills

* Ability to simplify/present complex ideas or processes for clearerunderstanding

* Ability to manage multiple priorities

* Ability to conduct productive meetings to resolve issues and gain agreement,as well as facilitate train-the-trainer sessions

* Advanced PC skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

* Experience with online development tools such as Adobe Captivate

* Ability to travel as needed

* Ability to work flexible work hours

* Willingness to comply with all Windstream policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:

College degree and 3-5 years professional level experiencewith 1 year supervisory experience for supervisory roles; or 7 yearsprofessional level related experience with 1 year supervisory experience forsupervisory roles; or an equivalent combination of education and professionallevel related experience required.
