The AV Tech will provide support and troubleshooting for Audio Visual equipment for events, technology equipped classrooms across campus, conference rooms and other common areas that have instructional technology-based configurations. This position provides backup for Desktop Technology support. The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of audio/video, conference room and desktop/office technologies. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a variety of audio/video, event support, and conference room technology equipment; must have a strong technical background and also have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a potentially non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

  • Educates the staff and customers on the basis of all AV equipment in the facility.
  • Adheres to preventative maintenance room sweeps on a monthly basis, and reports collected data
  • Changes data projectors, lamps and cabling pieces associated with all the various integrated systems throughout the campus.
  • Reviews operation of equipment with customer and ensures that the customer is comfortable with its operation.
  • Offers assistance in operation of equipment and helps solve problems if customer is unsure of requirements.
  • Communicates with co-workers and service partners to ensure updated information is shared.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware.
  • May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications

Qualifications

  • Requires 2-5 years of Audio Visual related work experience
  • AA degree, or Technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A+ certification
