ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As Associate Infrastructure Engineer, you will be depended upon to ensure the continued stability of Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewallsincluding but not limited toconducting security audits, successful deployments of upgrades, patches and hot fixes, and proactive monitoring of enterprise class appliances.Use sound judgement and experience to maintain uptime and reduce risk to the network.

As part of broader network security efforts, the individual in this position will also have opportunities to support and administer CDNs solutions; i.e. AWS, Akamai, Prolexic and Cloud DNS solutions.

Associate Infrastructure Engineers must be versatile and enthusiastic in addressing new problems as the team continues to support Network Infrastructure Security.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and preform security audits of firewall configurations including the rule base.
  • Conduct user audits across all network firewalls and their support servers.
  • Coordinate corresponding remediation tasks to correct audit findings.
  • Inspect new firewall builds for baseline configuration and compliance prior to handover.
  • Support production changes, including system upgrades and new product installations.
  • Mentor other teammates to help advance their skills and knowledge.
  • Draft technical documentation and keep documents up to date.
  • Develop system performance metrics and add resources where needed.
  • Provide ad hoc dev/test support to CCS security engineering teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as technical support for issues outside normal business hours.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in application support or development or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

2. Knowledge in information systems and ability to apply that knowledge in practice.

3. Ability to manage competing priorities.

4. Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedents.

5. Experience participating in IT projects.

6. Ability to communicate complex information in straightforward situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, data science, or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Cybersecurity tools and integrations with corporate systems, with solid understanding of Checkpoint Gaia operating system.
  • 5+ years operational experience with Cybersecurity platforms, preferably Checkpoint firewalls, including rule base audits and configuration compliance.
  • Experience in driving cross-team issue resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with defining and troubleshooting security policies.
  • Experience with performance tuning and monitoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Checkpoint, Linux, Cisco IOS, Algosec, Firemon and/or Tufin.
  • One or more leading Cybersecurity certifications like Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA), or other relevant certification
