* Bachelor's Degree;

* Two years working with parents and/or families with children


* Fluency in Spanish preferred.


* Plans and conducts activities to assist parents in becoming actively involved in the individual education program of their child;

* Works to develop and maintain a positive home-school relationship;

* Conducts surveys to determine needs and interests of school families;

* Maintains contact with school families through telephone calls, school newsletters and home visits;

* Conducts workshops on a variety of parenting topics relevant to the needs of the school population;

* Becomes knowledgeable about best practices in parent involvement and parent education;

* Receives training in a variety of parent education curricula;

* Maintains a close working relationship with business partners and community agencies;

* Provides specific outreach to parents;

* Maintains documentation of all parent involvement programs and activities;

* Meets regularly with the principal to discuss the status of implementation of parenting initiatives;

* Plans weekly with the school guidance counselor to coordinate services, programs, etc.

* Participates in the development of the Title I Home-School Compact, parent involvement policy an other required documents, if applicable. Monitors the effectiveness of the documentation;

* Establishes a parenting resource center in the school;

* Assists parents in completing program evaluations, assessments of personal topics and family satisfaction surveys;

* Supports the work of volunteer parent organizations;

* Participates in district-wide Parent Liaison meetings;

* Assists families in connecting with service agencies an makes referrals when necessary;

* Supports and participates in family literacy programs in the school;

* Administers appropriate survey and assessment tools to provide pre-test data and post-test data;

* Plans and coordinates activity schedules;

* Determines priorities, sequence of work and methods to be used in completing assignments;

* Identifies materials that complement and support specific areas if responsibility;

* Assist with compliance of laws, regulations, policies, codes, etc; and

* Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Salary Range: $24,200 - $33,275 (190 Day)
