RN Clinical Nurse II - GYN/GYN Oncology Acute Care - 6 Womens

RN needed for a 22-bed unit dedicated to the advancement of patient and family-care, education and research in the field of gynecology and gynecology oncology. We care for the middle adult, adult and geriatric GYN/GYN Oncology and post partum patient. Four beds are available for Radiation Therapy. Our focus is to provide optimal care to persons with an actual and/or potential diagnosis of cancer. Strengths: The 6 Women's staff utilizes a team approach to facilitate appropriate and effective care for our patients and families. Patient/families are encouraged to participate in their health care to maximize patient self-care skills and promote healthy lifestyles.

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

UNC Health Care received Magnet Recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center which recognizes quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice.

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing. Current certification in Healthcare Provider BLS/ CPR required.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
