IT Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure.

* Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure.

* Oversees the administration of the company's WAN and LAN.

* Manages and maintains company's VoIP system.

* Performs firmware updates to critical IT assets.

* Implement and maintain network security.

* Oversees the administration and maintenance of workstations, servers and software for company training programs.

* Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.

* Oversees all help desk activities and responds to escalated help desk issues.

* Oversees the administration and maintenance of our tracking software.

* Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.

* Assists with purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT assets.

* Develop and implement software and hardware upgrade plans.

* Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly.

* Builds and maintains vendor relationships and works with internal clients to manage the purchase of hardware and software products.

* Provide user level technical support for end users, computers, printers, etc.

* Provide user level training on daily applications used, including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic computer related skills.

* Assist with spyware, adware, and virus removal.

* Assist with applying updates to existing software and hardware

* Monitor printers, copiers and fax machines to make sure they are working properly and getting regular maintenance.

* Provide high degree of professionalism and end user satisfaction and work well with others.

* Assist with technical documentation of systems and processes

* Assist with creation and documentation of IT systems and networks

* Assist with the creation and documentation of technical knowledge base for common issues experienced by end users

* Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must have at least 1 - 2 years' experience in help desk

* Must have a working knowledge of Active Directory.

* Must be people oriented

* Experience with Office 365 is a plus

* A+, N+, MCSA or other Microsoft certificates are a big plus

* Knowledge of VoIP phone systems is a plus

* Facilitates team meetings effectively.

* Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to superiors.

* Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

* Relays relevant IT-related information to the company in a timely manner.

* Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

* Experience with MS Office products

* Must have basic knowledge of current technologies available in the IT world

* Work independently and assist with multiple projects, priorities, and locations

* Work under pressure with interruptions and challenging deadlines

* Willingness to work with many different people

* Ability to be courteous and helpful

* Must show aptitude and desire to learn new skills on the job

* Must be able to communicate clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing

* Work as a team member and promote a positive work environment

DESIRED SKILLS:

* Experience with Microsoft products like Office 365, Active Directory, Server platforms

* Comprehend and apply technical information, and present technical information to the general public in a non- technical manner
