Credit Division helps support that mission by developing long-lasting

relationships with customers that have our Nordstrom Visa, Nordstrom Retail and

have opened over 1 Million new accounts in each of the last 4 years and hope to

The Credit Risk Strategy & Product Analytics Team is responsible for the

strategies and initiatives that help both fuel growth of the portfolio as well

as protect the business from losses.

and challenging projects that improve the customer experience and deliver

Credit Analysts regularly present their analyses and recommendations to the

A day in the life…Design experiments to ensure that meaningful insights can be

obtained from credit acquisition and spend stimulation campagn testsUse statistical analysis techniques to quantify the impact of

tests and campaignsMonitor the performance of campaigns and present recommendations

based on resultsTranslate analytical findings into actionable strategic

recommendations.Develop segments that will be used to personalize credit card

offers and customer touchpointsBuild response models to determine which populations to target for

acquisition campaignsAutomate repetitive analyses utilizing SAS Macro Language, Excel

Macro Programming and R.Identify and provide recommendations regarding new opportunities

to improve business processes in the context of credit product analytics.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners across the

enterprise, including Product Strategy, Operations, Loyalty, and Finance, to

increase share of Nordstrom sales, deliver a world-class customer experience,

and meet business objectives.Complete additional Ad hoc requests as necessary.

You own this if you have…Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent

combination of experience and education required. Advanced degree preferred.Three to six years’ experience applying statistical modeling and

inference, preferably in the consumer credit card industry.Formal training in statistical modeling and experimental design

preferred, but not required (depending on experience)Demonstrated experience using advanced analytics such as cluster

analysis, regression and decision trees to develop innovative solutionsProven success developing SQL/SAS programs that produce output and

reporting in a seamless, fully-automated fashion.Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Industry preferred.Ability to take ambiguous data questions, translate them into a

clear analytical plan, and produce concise summary output that includes

recommendations based upon core findings.Ability to effectively communicate complicated data and analytical

issues verbally and in writing to core stakeholders and partners across the

enterprise.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a

fast-paced environment as part of a team.
