Marketing Coordinator

Girl Scouts of Eastern IA and Western IL Cedar Rapids, IA
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the design and production of marketing materials that will effectively promote the Council's mission and increase awareness of the organization to meet Council goals. The Coordinator ensures the Council's marketing campaigns conform to Council policies and standards as established by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.


* Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies, campaigns, and content.

* Responsible for setting design standards in accordance to brand standard set by GSUSA.

* Designs creative materials for marketing and communications, utilizing a variety of marketing mediums and platforms.

* Works with requestors to determine scope of project, makes recommendations and changes to art, design or copy.

* Coordinates marketing requests from staff and volunteers.

* Oversees outsourcing of marketing projects; coordinates projects with vendors and ensures print quality and brand standards.

* Manages the Council's social media accounts.

* Assists with Public Relations; writing press releases, coordinating media.

* Assists with the promotion and planning of special events.

* Produces and edits video content.

* Research and complies data and utilizes information to create new marketing and communications strategies

* Attends or assigns staff designee responsible for photography at Council events.

* Works on marketing projects with girls and volunteers.

* Utilizes the Council's customer relationship management or other data tracking systems.

* Works with cross-functional teams to develop innovative marketing techniques to ensure on going effective delivery of the recruitment and program strategies.

* Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.

* Promotes and assists with Council wide programs, activities, public relations and fund development endeavors.

* Performs other duties as assigned.


* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graph Design, or other related fields or 2 years related experience

* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

* Experience with video editing, preferred

* Experience with writing copy for a variety of marketing venues

* Knowledge and understanding of printing specifications and process

* Ability to work some evenings and weekends

* Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the most current Microsoft applications and experience with customer relationship management systems or other data management systems

* Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time

* Ability to lift 35 lbs

* Valid driver's license

* Access to reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance
