The Quality Assurance Manager will primarily work with production and project management teams to establish, administer and maintain a divsional Quality Assurance Program that is consistent with the overall idX Quality Strategy and Standards.

  • Establish audit schedules and criteria to prevent out of control conditions throughout the production environment
  • Maintain COQ results below business goal
  • Nurture a safe work place through constant safety awareneess and participation
  • Assist with communication and problem solving efforts utilizing Customer Issues Log and feedback from Project Management
  • Maintain COQ reporting. Assure data accuracy and communication to all divisional teams
  • Document and maintain customer quality expectations and assure communication to production teams
  • Communicate Quality Assurance Program to divisional employees and coordinate all Quality Assurance training
  • Maintain written and communicated machining standards
  • Monitor and facilitate supplier conformance on purchased products
  • Facilitate packaging standards with suppliers and finished materials through working with Purchasing and Project Management
  • Review new product designs and contruction methods through participation in the VE Process
  • Coordinate pre-production/first article and prototype sample review and sign-off
  • Monitor engineering change requests and assure adequate testing is conducted before approval
  • Collaborate with receiving, production, engineering, purchasing, project management, shipping and HR to develop quality management systems that assure continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility
  • Oversee the development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Management System throughout all departments at the division
  • Maintain compliance with idX9001 standards
  • May investigate customer complaints regarding quality and make appropriate adjustments
  • May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinatry action

* 10+ years experience of wood and/or metal manufacturing, store fixture industry preferred

* 5+ years experience leading, managing and motivating quality assurance efforts in a manufacturing environment

* Technical expertise required (industrial engineering or quality assurance experience preferred) with a demonstrated hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes

* Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and standards

* Must have the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets along with an understanding of ERP software, Vantage preferred

* Must have the ability to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications

* Proven ability to develop, implement and maintain a successful quality assurance program across multiple job functions in a manufacturing environment
