Job Description:

This resource needs to be a proactive and "outside the box" thinker, as he/she will be tasked with troubleshooting a plethora of different technologies and needs to be creative in their ability to troubleshoot.

Understanding the basic concept of troubleshooting and applying it throughout the different technologies is essential.

This resource will act as the buffer between the end users and the SME's and other engineers and will join a team of 5 other admins/engineers. If the issue cannot be fixed it will be escalated to one of the SME's or Engineers.

An ideal candidate would have experience with customer interfacing as they need to be able to communicate with the end users, SME's, and other teams over the phone. Being able to work in a remote capacity would be ideal. The Systems Support Engineer (SSE) is responsible for the support of systems, servers, networking components, and related infrastructure. The SSE uses system and networking diagnostic tools and system administration skills to configure, install, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot servers and workstations, and to provide support to users and application support teams on an escalation basis.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: The SSE will work hands on with systems and server platforms in a support role, performing configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting duties in a ticket/transaction-based environment (80%). Other duties as assigned (20%).

QUALIFICATIONS: A BS Degree in a related field is desirable, but may be substituted with applicable industry related experience * Microsoft MCSE and/or other related industry certifications are preferred

REQUIRED SKILL SET: 2 - 3 years of recent in depth working knowledge of and experience with the following: * Active Directory * Group Policy * Windows 7 operating system support * SCCM * Microsoft Windows Server 2012 * Microsoft Exchange 2010 * VMWare vSphere * Citrix XenApp * SAN/NAS (NetApp or EMC) Preferred Experience and Certifications: Working knowledge of and experience with the following: * Citrix XenDesktop * Citrix NetScaler * VMWare SRM * Cisco UCS * Microsoft SQL * CommVault Simpana * Microsoft IIS * Microsoft Windows PowerShell * Scripting * Application packaging and deployment * IBM x series servers and Blade Center * Systems monitoring tools * TCP/IP and Cisco routers/switches * Microsoft MTA/MCSA/MCSE * CompTIA A+, Net+

OTHER: Possess Project management skills * Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical people. * Be a team player, self-starter and have confidence to self-manage and prioritize work. * Ability to listen, analyze, and organize thoughts and facts (solve problems) in a real-time environment
