Information Services is dedicated to making information quickly and easily available to facilitate health care providers in giving the highest quality care. As a part of the Information Services team, the Clinical Systems Coordinator is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in information technology through education, communication, and networking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The employee shall comply with all safety and health standards, and all rules, regulations, and orders which are applicable to the individual's own position, actions, and conduct.
  • Monitors effectiveness of assigned systems and/or applications.
  • Implements special projects as assigned.
  • Participates in the production of policy and procedure manuals, backup documentation and annual updates for clinical information systems.
  • Maintains adequate level of technical competence in WMC's clinical information systems.
  • Participates on house-wide committees as requested.
  • Coordinates successful project completions in a timely manner.
  • Incorporates and supports ongoing updates, maintenance, enhancements and revisions between affected units, areas, floors and/or departments.
  • Attends project meetings as required.
  • Maintains integrity of specific clinical applications data.
  • Shares knowledge of specific clinical applications with users and IS departmental personnel.
  • Serves as liaison and resource person for assigned areas.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems with specific clinical applications and provides customer support in a timely manner.
  • Assists in preparation and presentation of training materials.
  • Communicates with users, supervisors, managers and directors.
  • Creates or acquires reports for systems and/or applications supported as requested.
  • Serves as primary contact for vendors during system implementation and ongoing system operation.
  • Monitors systems and/or applications assigned during installation and/or implementation to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Provides critical input on budgets and training schedules for project implementations.
  • Suggests improvements in systems and/or applications to management.
  • Coordinates interface communications between various IS staff and vendors during assigned project implementation.
  • Conducts and attends regular meeting with project coordinators, IS staff and other WMC disciplines involved in systems projects.
  • Complies with and assists in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts.
  • Takes IT on-call duties for systems in use at WMC as scheduled or requested. This includes nights, weekends, holidays, and during implementation and upgrades.
  • Resolves issues that are assigned by the IT Help Desk.
  • The employee shall participate in no less than 80% of department specific education. Mastery of the subject matter of each session will be evaluated by written testing. A passing score is required.
  • Employee will participate in the production of department specific education modules using a predefined template and presenting on a rotating schedule.
  • Performs additional duties as required or delegated.
