Responsibilities

* Applies full understanding of the business, the customer, and the solutions that a business offers to effectively design, develop, and implement operational capabilities, tools and processes that enable highly available, scalable & reliable customer experiences

* Implements repeatable and maintainable procedures

* Develops and maintains automated, zero-downtime deployment capability in an always-on SaaS environment

* Manages monitoring solutions to aid in the rapid notification and resolution of incidents

* Drives improvement within and across teams

* Can support an On-Call schedule for Operations

* Owns received ticket from first contact up to resolution, whether directly resolved or through within the team

Requirements

The successful candidate must have all the following requirements:

* 3+ years experience with RHEL v5 (and newer) (command line)

* 5+ years related Sys Admin/Ops Engineer experience

* 3+ years troubleshooting relevant OS (e.g. Linux, Windows Server, UNIX, MAC) and associated infrastructure services

* LDAP, DNS (AD and BIND)

* Experience managing and maintaining Windows active directory

* Experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 and newer

* Scripting (bash, Python, .vbs, .bat, PERL, Ruby) experience (must be able to read)

* Experience supporting a SaaS offering

* Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting as required

* Experience deploying and supporting VMWare servers and clusters

* Design & configure monitoring with meaningful and actionable alerts using Nagios, Splunk or similar tools

* Completion of routine service and incident requests within Service Level Objectives

* Maintain capabilities for zero-downtime

* Develop living playbooks to improve repeatability and reduce incidents

* Reporting on applications performance, availability, reliability, etc.

* Implement process improvements and enhanced operational efficiencies

* Must have solid knowledge of OSI model and LAN switching principles

* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Additional Experience

* Experience with Windows 7 (and higher) support

* Experience with Apache Web Services, Load Balancing and ReWrite Rules

* Experience with JBoss, Oracle, and Cold Fusion environments is a bonus

* Experience with Jenkins and Ansible or other automation tools is a big plus

* Technically competent with networking technologies (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, ACLs, etc.) and able to install and configure network and security devices is preferred.

* F5 global and local load balancers, security components such as ASA Firewalls, IDS/IPS devices, and VPNs is a big plus

* Development of performance and capacity plans (operational capacity and load requirements)

* Technical design and implementation plans for application disaster recovery, migration, roll-back plans, expansion, routine deployments, and system upgrades

* Experienced working knowledge of backend NetApp storage is a plus

* Managing or implementing backup strategies (appliance, VM, NetApp, File System) is a plus

* ITIL / ITSM process experience and understanding is helpful

* Experience with Mesos is a plus
