Position Summary:

At Woodland Terrace, the Human Resources Generalist oversees the administration of Human Resources in the community, contributing to team development and associate engagement, and thus facilitating resident satisfaction and loyalty. Responsibilities include recruiting, learning and development, employee relations, payroll, benefits, compensation, workers' compensation, administering policies and procedures, HRIS and performance management. The Human Resources Director ensures compliance with company policies and current labor laws and reporting requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

* Assist community in complying with human resources related company policies, as well as all applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, in coordination with Home Office.

* Achieve balanced results in associate engagement, resident loyalty, and financial performance.

* Practice proactive associate engagement through management of associate appreciation programs, facilitating associate and management relations, and professional development of associates.

* Support and coach associates and managers regarding all Kisco human resources practices and programs and make recommendations for improvement as needed.

* Perform other related duties as required.

* Facilitate community team development through position reviews, effective recruiting and screening of candidates, and assisting with offers and post-hire procedures, including new associate on-boarding program.

* Develop and administer associate training programs, ensuring compliance with state, federal and licensing requirements, and maintain training records.

* Work with department directors on goal setting, annual performance reviews, salary. adjustments, progressive counseling, and terminations

* Work with the Executive Director and Home Office Human Resources Department, as appropriate, to timely and appropriately address, investigate and resolve associate grievances and complaints.

* Actively facilitate and support the company's associate wellness program and efforts.

* Monitor unemployment claims and attend hearings and appeals as needed.

* Actively handle workers' compensation claims.

* Contribute to the financial and operational success of the community by assisting with safe work practices, overall labor cost management, and operating within a budget.

* Coordinate all leaves of absence in accordance with applicable policies and laws.

* Responsible for preparing, maintaining and transmitting payroll data in an accurate, secure and timely manner; distribute paychecks and conduct self-audits as appropriate.

* Responsible for maintaining accurate personnel files in HRIS system and preparing and transmitting all required HR reports to the Home Office in a timely manner.

* Conduct departmental planning and forecasting, and fluidly manage operations based on occupancy, financial targets and economic conditions.

* Interview, hire, train, manage and retain highly effective associates and create a climate of associate engagement through coaching, mentoring, teambuilding, performance management, recognition and professional development.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree with course work in business, human resources, or related field

* 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required, or

* Advanced degree with slightly less experience

* Ability to build effective teams, hire and develop people and have the courage to lean into difficult issues

* High competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including: Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems
