Job Description:

ADESA, a subsidiary of KAR, is making an investment in implementing process and operational excellence across its business. In this journey, the company is looking for an executive with high potential that can be focused on value creation through building a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement. Reporting to the President of ADESA, this role is responsible for leading, promoting and executing the successful implementation of the process and operational excellence system within auction operations and back office processes. This position will partner with the ADESA Senior Leadership team, auction operations and other functional leadership, as well as key customers, to drive sustained continuous improvement results and to create a culture of continuous improvement. This position will partner with customers to define success in service delivery, identify key pain points and show sustained improvements over time.

Key Responsibilities:

* Drive continuously improving results by leveraging Lean principles, practices and tools, consulting skills, and change management processes

* Owns the process of identifying improvement opportunities in cycle time, defect reduction and overall performance management of key processes within the ADESA business

* Implement balanced scorecard metrics for the designated business operations scope

* Develops and owns a portfolio of initiatives that drive value for the organization and drives accountability in the execution of the portfolio

* Assist functional leadership in the development of a transformation pipeline and schedules with planned resource allocations

* Develop plan and provide formal and informal training and capability building in continuous improvement methods

* Promote and facilitate frontline team member development in various continuous improvement tools, lean operations, and kaizen leadership

* Actively participate in the continuous improvement community to benchmark and incorporate best practices

* Generate a significant multiple of invested cost in terms of value creation.

Education / Experience / Key Success Factors:

* Academic undergraduate degree is required, preferably in Industrial Engineering or equivalent. MBA a plus.

* Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a "operations manager's" point of view

* Knowledge and experience with design, development, and implementation of a Lean roadmap for an operating business

* Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing continuous improvement transformations in transactional or operational environments

* Consultative approach and experience with change management

* Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to work successfully with all levels of the organization.

* Excellent problem solving and strong training and facilitation skills

* Good time and project management skills

* Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment

* Good writing and administrative skills, including MS office skills

* Highly self-motivated, enthusiastic and ability to create followership

* Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50%, depending on scope)
