Job Details

The User Acceptance Tester is responsible for testing changes or updates to the company's various systems and applications in accordance with the Functional Specifications document. Through direct interaction and engagement with Business SMEs, management, and various other partners, the Tester will be responsible for building appropriate test plans, identifying and building test cases, executing tests/test scripts, identifying, reporting, and managing defect resolution, and ensuring adherence to UAT Entrance/Exit criteria. This position will report to the Manager of Business Systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Contributes and actively participates in the development of detailed Business Requirements documentation for systems upgrades, fixes, and enhancements.

* Partners closely with Business Analysts and Business teams to perform preliminary scope definition, aiding in the determination of necessary and appropriate system and/or process modifications.

* Creates and executes test strategies and plans – traceable to requirements and design, tracks results – ensuring appropriate issue and defect resolution, process deviations and training.

* Provides work effort estimations for UAT scope, based upon established Entrance and Exit criteria, and maintains adherence to risk management guidelines.

* Facilitates and actively participates in meetings to ensure proper communication around active and in-process issues, including those outside specific projects.

* Researches unexpected test results to identify root cause and ensures their proper documentation and resolution.

* Analyzes active issues to assess impact to training, documentation, procedure, etc.

* Researches and resolves production support issues, including those outside specific implementations and/or projects.

* Manages the analysis and compilation of test script results to distinguish between application defects, incorrect requirements, outstanding issues, and training issues.

* Ensures the correct process (defect resolution, change management, and issue management) is identified and followed to achieve timely resolution.

* Identifies, reports, and documents risks associated with testing and ensures proper mitigation.

* Serves as a primary subject matter expert (SME) on one or more applications.

Requirements for Success:

* 2+ years' experience in related field

* Strong Business process and operational knowledge, with proven ability to learn.

* Solid understanding of business requirements and process flows, supporting development of test plans which are realistic and appropriate to the business.

* Ability to learn and execute Test and Defect Management.

* Ability to define Entrance and Exit criteria for UAT phase.

* Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with high degree of attention to detail.

* Focus on customer satisfaction.

* MS Office Suite, Quality Center, and applicable toolsets.

* Strong SQL skills a plus.

* Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and project management team.

* Consistently delivers expected results/deliverables on scheduled target dates.
