Accounting Assistant

Location: Carlsbad, CA

Duration: 12 months


The Accounting Assistant will provide support for Facilities Engineering, Operations and Site Services needs critical to the operation and expansion of the Carlsbad, California facility. This role will focus on managing expense and capital budgets associated with operating the site and necessary projects.

Essential Functions:

Request and track purchase orders through vendor payment.

Match vendor invoices to jobs and purchase orders for payment.

Review accuracy of department monthly finance reporting.

Manage balance on blanket purchase orders and all charge back accounts to site departments.

Provide monthly accruals for outstanding payments not noted in supplied reports.

Provide monthly spend forecasting for capital and expense accounts.

Track department productivity savings and report to PPI organization.

Assist in all month and quarter end close processes.

Assist as needed in Accounts Payable transaction troubleshooting and process improvement.

Assist in the creation of project capital appropriations requests

Lead related projects for cost savings and services consolidation.

Minimum Qualifications (must have):

* 2 years accounting / office administration with relevant experience

Skills and Abilities:

* General understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes

* Highly organized, detail oriented and accurate, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to research and resolve problems with inconsistent or missing information

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
