Novitex Enterprise Solutions is looking to fill a General Clerk II position in Washington, D.C. The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

So what will you actually be doing?

With a strong attention to detail, they will facilitate a variety of tasks to ensure high levels of customer service in a fast paced environment.

A General Clerk's daily tasks will involve:

* May receive shipments and supplies, inspect for damage, and check for correct quality and quantity

May receive shipments and supplies, inspect for damage, and check for correct quality and quantity

* Opens and distributes incoming mail and prepares mail-outs. -Posts information to agency records and modifies forms or records

* Receives, stores, and issues stock items. -Performs data entry and retrieval and performs arithmetical computations

* Makes copies of documents for record; may handle continuous photocopying assignments

* Performs related work as assigned

* Receive coaching/feedback and implements/takes action to make changes as appropriate

* Adheres to service compliance requirements

Employment Requirements:

* The ability to pass a government credit check and background investigation for a Public Trust clearance level

* The ability to pass a Novitex background check and pre-employment drug test

* A high school diploma or equivalent

* The following is preferred, but not required:

* One (1) year of Copy/Scanning experience

* One (1) year of Mailroom experience

* One (1) year of Records Management or File Room experience

* The ability to learn and retain a wide variety tasks, and perform those tasks as needed with minimal or no notice

* The ability to work different shifts as needed with minimal notice.The ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including photocopiers, fax machines, document scanners and printers

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, databases and database software

* Good problem solving and skills, attention to detail and ability to read and follow instructions explicitly

* Good oral and written communication skills

* The ability to perform the following physical tasks:

* Standing, bending and stretching to retrieve files and boxes from shelves.

* Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds as needed.

* Climbing short ladders or step stools and keeping balance with or without loaded boxes.

* Loading, pushing and unloading carts of boxes or files.
