Resident Care Worker Supervisor - North Campus Residential Treatment Center

Location - North Campus, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701

Midnight Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am - The candidate must be able to maintain flexibilty in their work schedule and this position may be required to work evenings or weekends based on the needs of the center.


The Resident Care Worker Supervisor - North Campus Residential Treatment Center will direct and manage all Cottage Staff at Cottonwood Residential Treatment Facility.


This position is directly responsible to the Facilities Manager.


Cottage staff (RCW)


Knowledge of Work

* Know, follow and understand all policies, procedures and HIPPA regulations.

* Complete and perform all training requirements and hold licenses and certifications required by policy.

* Secure any confidential information.

* Read memos, email, and other facility communications daily.

* Know and follow the chain of command; report incidents to the appropriate people in the required timeframe.

* Communicate and interact with everyone in a professional and a respectful manner.

* Maintain a clean, safe environment for everyone.

Treatment of Residents

* Attend to resident's dietary, hygiene, medical and emotional needs

* Role model appropriate behavior for residents

* Actively participate in activities with the residents while supervising their behaviors.

* Actively support the education of the residents.

* Implement appropriate treatment interventions by following treatment plans and regularly reading treatment team minutes or participating in treatment team meetings.

* Assign appropriate limits and consequences for residents.

* Offer feedback and praise to the residents.


* Read and write a written shift change report and give a verbal shift change report to the oncoming staff.

* Document resident's goals, behaviors, objectives, interventions, outcomes and future plans as outlined in progress notes.

* Ensure all required paperwork is completed at the end of the shift.


* Arrive to work as scheduled and follow policy for lunches and breaks.

* Fill out time sheets completely and turn them in on time.

* Be willing to work when and where you are needed.

Performance Planning

* Assess staff strengths and areas needing improvement to develop plans for growth and learning.

* Assure staff are trained and knowledgeable regarding policy and operating procedure.

* Provide regular feedback to assigned staff.

* Objectively evaluate performance of staff.

* Report any performance issues to your supervisor.

Leadership and Management Skills

* Provide direction to maintain therapeutic structure of the cottages.

* Identify cottage needs and develop plans to address those needs.

* Role model professional behavior and appropriate interventions with residents and staff.

* Provide support and direction to assigned staff.

* Maintain open communication with staff and respond to staff needs.

* Recognize, utilize, and develop staff strengths.

* Manage staff in a safe and effective manner.


To perform this position successfully, an individual must have a minimum of two (2) years in related mental health or child related field. This position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

Preference will be given to those with supervisory or management experience.


This is a 24-hour a day, 7 days a week facility and requires staffing at all times. Day shift is 6:15 am to 2:45 pm, evening shift is 2:15 pm to 10:45 pm and midnight shift is 10:30 pm to 6:30 am.
