ISG is seeking a world-class Industry Lead/Business Development focused consultant with digital acumen to help lead and expand its Automotive Industry Practice. The Partner/Director will provide leadership and client delivery on multiple dimensions: digital strategy, senior client leadership, thought leadership/IP development, business development (must have deep client relationships), and account management.

The Partner/Director will have a demonstrated track record in digital strategy in the Automotive industry sector including: 1) the adoption of cloud computing, automation, IoT strategies, enterprise agility, customer experience and integrating analytics; and enterprise cost optimization in addition to providing overall project guidance and leadership of delivery with client executives. The candidate will be recognized for his or her ability to develop major client relationships through professional networking, client delivery successes, and domain expertise in Automotive business process and IT transformation.

This individual will be responsible for managing strategic accounts such as OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers to achieve revenue and margin requirements in addition to expanding the accounts with new solutions over time.

Furthermore, responsibility will be to lead business engagements and advisory teams in support of client digital strategy initiatives. The Partner/Director will be coordinating, assisting and leading the development of initial assessments, project plans, vendor selections, financial modeling, RFP creation, contract negotiations, and post-selection administrative actions.

The ISG Partner/Director has the responsibility to generate client revenues and manage projects which generate revenue in the amount determined by the annual budget.

This position will report to the ISG Manufacturing, Communications and Media Vertical Partner, but the individual is expected to operate independently.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provides digital consultation services to clients and suppliers.
• Interacts directly with senior client and service provider executives
• Independently develops project work plans and customizes to meet client specifications as well as estimates staffing, task duration, and client staffing requirements.
• Develops medium to large complex financial models and possesses a thorough knowledge of IS budgets, the budgeting process, corporate finance at large or geographically dispersed clients.
• Develops the financial, statement of work, service level and contract terms portions of the RFP.
• Leads evaluation of vendor proposals and identifies potential strengths/weaknesses.
• Develops strategy or tactics to move suppliers to the client-desired outcome.
• Recognized as a leader in both project work as well as within ISG. Takes initiative to participate and lead aspects of ISG business.
• Leads the planning and the development to all project deliverables and assumes overall responsibility for staffing, budget, work plans, scope, project milestones, issues management and risk management utilizing ISG’s project management methods, tools and templates.
• Responsibility to generate client revenues and manage projects which generate revenue in the amount determined by the annual budget.
• Account Planning and Management of Strategic Automotive accounts.

Candidate, Skills and Experience Qualifications:

• 15 to 20+ years of recent experiences preferably working for an outsourcing service provider or large consulting firm in several roles including technology, account management, sales, sales support and service delivery management.
• Significant knowledge of information technology and business processes, service delivery, outsourcing contracts, operating models and service provider management.
• Leadership experience with small to medium size teams.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role and Automotive industry experience with deep understanding of digital technologies (mobile, cloud, analytics, etc.) impacting the Automotive client experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ of strategy consulting with hands-on experience implementing strategy; experience with large, complex digital strategy & transformation programs that deliver demonstrative business value, data-driven insight, improved operational efficiencies, and new forms of user experiences and engagement
• Significant delivery management experience, including managing teams at all project phases, exemplary track record in successful client relationship management and multi-project oversight.
• Possesses thorough knowledge of sourcing contract terms and conditions.
• Recognized by peers as subject matter expert in related technology/sourcing issues and industry expert by clients.
• Domain expertise in Automotive industry with breadth and depth of knowledge and engagement leadership experience with an understanding of the business domain expertise and proven experience crafting solutions to address industry-specific processes.
• Experience focused on digital transformation aspects including shared services, operational improvement, and strategy.
• Automotive business development and sales experience including prospecting, lead qualification, proposal writing, sales calls and sales support.
• Expert knowledge of Automotive clients and their business needs.
• Practice development experience, including sales and marketing collateral development, IP development and solution development.
• Expert ability to do both strategic assessment and transactional consulting at senior levels. Team development and management experience, including recruiting, relationship management, mentoring and utilization management.
• Expert presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management including senior leaders.

Location:

• Detroit, Michigan required – it is important the individual in this role be located in the Detroit area with strong networking in the area.

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in Business or Communications
• MBA or another advanced degree (s) desirable

Travel:

• 50 - 75%+ required

Computer Literacy:

• Demonstrates working knowledge of MS-Office suite of software applications and tools, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, MS-Outlook.
