Responsibilities

As a Pathways Intern, Student Trainee (Sales Store Checker), you will actively participate in on-the-job training and progressively challenging assignments that relate to your academic program, career goals, and the needs of the agency.

* Operate an electronic checkout system, makes change, and verifies change fund and amount of currency received during an assigned shift.

* Manage change machines ensuring proper amounts of cash and coins are available.

* Assist customers by answering questions concerning prices, identification, and location of items.

* Count cash and negotiable instruments to prepare an accountability report.

* Manages the self-check-out registers assisting customers in the correct processing of their purchases.

* Changes register tape, and clear routine equipment and scanning jams on registers.

* Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

* Work Schedule: Part-time not to exceed 48-64 hours bi-weekly

* Tour of Duty: Supervisors/participants will agree on a work schedule that does not interfere with the students academic schedule orperformance. This schedule must be documented in the Participant Agreement.

Eligibility Requirements: GS-1

* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

* Education enrollment MUST be at least half-time basis as defined by your educational institution

* Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at a minimum in a high school or equivalent program

* Must be at least 16 years of age

* Have at least a 2.0 grade point average at the time of appointment and throughout the duration of the internship
